It\u2019s said to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Rv1tZm1sHQI&amp;feature=youtu.be\">work like this<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Google+: Beautiful movies, made Auto Awesomely\" width=\"604\" height=\"340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Rv1tZm1sHQI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>By coincidence, <a href=\"http:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2013\/10\/29\/magisto-13m-qualcomm-sandisk\/\">Magisto got another $13 million<\/a> in funding today to do essentially the same things, and they claim to have 13 million users. Plenty of others (<a href=\"http:\/\/ptch.com\">Ptch<\/a> from Dreamworks, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.qwiki.com\">Qwiki<\/a> from Yahoo, etc.) are playing in similar territory.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>My question: If this stuff is so great (and free), why don\u2019t we see anyone creating &amp; sharing it? (Or do we and I\u2019m just old\/blind?)<\/p>\n<p>You can <a href=\"http:\/\/ec2-23-21-8-227.compute-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Research-Note-1-2013.pdf\">read studies<\/a>\u2014not that you need to\u2014that list the top reasons people say they don\u2019t share videos: Watching it takes <strong>too long<\/strong>, it <strong>looks bad<\/strong> (shaky, poorly colored), and it <strong>sounds bad<\/strong>. Unsurprisingly, services like Google\u2019s go after these problems: Automate everything (no creation time commitment), chop it into short segments (lower viewer time commitment), slap on some color looks, blow away the recorded audio, and apply stabilization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are the results something you value<\/strong>? What would you care about more?
