That could now change.<\/p>\n<p>The new version stitches photos into smooth fly-throughs. Per <a href=\"http:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2013\/12\/10\/imicrosoft-releases-3rd-generation-of-photosynth-turns-3d-images-into-video-like-experiences\/\">TechCrunch<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>[U]sers upload a set of photos to Microsoft\u2019s cloud service then the technology begins to looking for points (\u201cfeatures\u201d) in the successive photos that appear to the be same object. It then determines where each photo was taken from, where in 3D space each of these objects were, and how the camera was oriented. Next, it generates the 3D shapes on a per-photo basis. And finally, <strong>the technology calculates a smooth path \u2013 like a Steadicam \u2013 through the locations for each photo<\/strong>, and then slices the images into multi-resolution pyramids for efficiency.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Check this out:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" height=\"350\" width=\"425\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"\/\/photosynth.net\/preview\/embed\/bf591263-4b2f-4421-b3af-2034f38526e7?delayload=true&#038;autoplay=false\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve clicked it, try hitting \u201cC\u201d to reveal &amp; interact with the 3D camera path. Here\u2019s an example from\u00a0photographer David Brashears, who captured Mt.
