[<a href=\"http:\/\/www.core77.com\/blog\/technology\/drop_of_milk_photo_5257.asp\">Via<\/a>]<\/li>\n<li>Like perhaps millions of others, I&#8217;ve seen some of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stevemccurry.com\/main.php\">Steve McCurry<\/a>&#8216;s famous and arresting images, but like many I didn&#8217;t know his name.&#160; I know it now, as the always-excellent blog The Online Photographer highlighted the arrival of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Steve-McCurry-Looking-East-Portraits\/dp\/0714846376\/sr=1-1\/qid=1167339095?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books\"><em>Looking East<\/em><\/a>, a book of Steve&#8217;s portraiture. Do be careful, though: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stevemccurry.com\/main.php\">his site<\/a> contains a rich portfolio and could well suck you in for ages (and it did me).  [<a href=\"http:\/\/theonlinephotographer.blogspot.com\/2006\/12\/year-in-photography_28.html\">Via<\/a>]<\/li>\n<li>Through T.O.P. I was reminded of the work of Jill Greenberg, whom they&#8217;ve named <a href=\"http:\/\/theonlinephotographer.blogspot.com\/2006\/12\/year-in-photography_116760299450972303.html\">Photographer of the Year<\/a>.&#160; Her <a href=\"http:\/\/paulkopeikingallery.com\/artists\/greenberg\/index0.htm\">crying tots<\/a> aren&#8217;t my cup of tea, but for whatever reason I really groove on her <a href=\"http:\/\/www.masters-of-fine-art-photography.com\/02\/artphotogallery\/photographers\/jill_greenberg001.html\">monkey portraits<\/a>. See more of them <a href=\"http:\/\/paulkopeikingallery.com\/artists\/greenberg\/index00.htm\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>My own amateurish bits  suffer by proximity, but the windy CA weather dropped a few groovy branches in our yard last night, and with a macro lens borrowed from the &#8216;Dobe, I had fun creating a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jnack.com\/images\/close.jpg\">few<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jnack.com\/images\/closer.jpg\">shots<\/a>.&#160; I&#8217;ve posted them (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jnack.com\/images\/zoomify\/close.html\">1<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jnack.com\/images\/zoomify\/closer.html\">2<\/a>) via Zoomify, exported from CS3, as well so you can see the details. [Note: We&#8217;ll fix that &quot;zoomed way out by default&quot; bug soon, I promise.] <\/li>\n<li>Someday, I&#8217;m afraid, you&#8217;ll read that I crashed and burned on Hwy 101 while transfixed by the comings &amp; goings at <a href=\"http:\/\/images.google.com\/images?hl=en&amp;q=moffett+field&amp;btnG=Search+Images\">Moffett<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/reader\/0738531324\/ref=sib_dp_pt\/002-4505198-1593627#reader-link\">Field<\/a>, former home of the Navy&#8217;s lighter-than-air fleet.&#160; In the meantime, the <em>NYT<\/em> is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytstore.com\/ProdDetail.aspx?prodId=7506\">selling<\/a> a beautiful print of a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytstore.com\/ViewLargeImage.aspx?id=NSAP1122\">Zeppelin over Manhattan<\/a>. On a related note, &quot;Personal Blimp&quot; refers not just to a product mgr. stuffed with HoneyBaked Ham (it <em>was<\/em> delicious) , but also to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.personalblimp.com\/images.html\">a small new airship<\/a> being designed in Massachusetts.
