{"id":12243,"date":"2007-02-21T06:54:34","date_gmt":"2007-02-21T06:54:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnackdev\/2007\/02\/laser-graffitti-chrome-spheres.html"},"modified":"2007-02-21T06:54:34","modified_gmt":"2007-02-21T06:54:34","slug":"laser_graffitti_chrome_spheres","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/2007\/02\/21\/laser_graffitti_chrome_spheres\/","title":{"rendered":"Laser graffitti + chrome spheres"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>File under <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnack\/enormousness\/\">Enormousness<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You&#8217;ve gotta love any <a href=\"http:\/\/muonics.net\/blog\/index.php?postid=15\">ingredient list<\/a> that includes the phrase, &quot;1 60mW Green Laser (super illegal in a lot of places and very dangerous).&quot;&#160; And you&#8217;ve really gotta love what the Graffiti Research Lab does with theirs, <a href=\"http:\/\/graffitiresearchlab.com\/?page_id=76#video\">lighting up a Rotterdam building<\/a> with all kinds of hand-drawn art.&#160; Big style points for the dripping paint effect! <\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ve always really liked mosaics and particle systems, and I used to browbeat a friend in Illustrator engineering to convert their mosaic filter to create symbols (good for turning artwork into particles that could be animated, kind of like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jnack.com\/adobe\/flash\/sprayer.html\">these fish<\/a>).&#160; That hasn&#8217;t happened, but in the meantime I can enjoy Danny Rozin&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smoothware.com\/danny\/newshinyballsmirror.html\">shiny balls mirror<\/a>&#160;(see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smoothware.com\/danny\/newshinyballsmirrormov.html\">video<\/a>).&#160; Comprised of &quot;921 hexagonal black-anodized aluminum tube extrusions, 921 chrome-plated plastic balls, and 819 motors,&quot; the system reflects the viewer twice: once in each ball, and once in the entire piece.
