{"id":12384,"date":"2007-06-06T20:09:24","date_gmt":"2007-06-06T20:09:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnackdev\/2007\/06\/my-life-as-a-cs3-icon.html"},"modified":"2007-06-06T20:09:24","modified_gmt":"2007-06-06T20:09:24","slug":"my_life_as_a_cs3_icon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/2007\/06\/06\/my_life_as_a_cs3_icon\/","title":{"rendered":"My life as a CS3 icon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, it was probably bound to happen: after getting irradiated with <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnack\/2006\/12\/whats_up_with_the_new_photoshop_icon_brand.html\">500+<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnack\/2006\/12\/now_showing_the_rest_of_the_cs3_icons.html\">comments<\/a> on the CS3 icons late last year, I have now <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photo_zoom.gne?id=528077362&amp;size=l\">turned into a series of Adobe icons<\/a> myself!<\/p>\n<p>This portrait was created by the talented and innovative Greek illustrator Charis Tsevis (<a href=\"http:\/\/ictvc.org\/3\/95\/&amp;pid=364\">profile<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tsevis\/sets\/72057594049889111\/show\/\">portfolio<\/a>).&#160; I <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnack\/2007\/01\/fun_with_apple.html\">mentioned<\/a> his work in January &amp; was delighted to receive this image in return.&#160; It&#8217;s now hanging on the Photoshop floor and is being creatively desecrated by passersby (devil horns, soul patch, and probably more added by now).&#160; Charis creates photomosaics using Photoshop (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vcdc.gr\/forum\/viewtopic.php?t=6955\">tutorial in Greek<\/a>, but worth scrolling through) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.synthetik.com\/\">Synthetik Studio Artist<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking of the CS3 icons, at least they didn&#8217;t <a href=\"http:\/\/sport.guardian.co.uk\/london2012\/story\/0,,2096488,00.html?gusrc=rss&amp;feed=networkfront\">cause epileptic seizures<\/a> (so far as I know) or draw the kind of scorn reserved for the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fihockey.org\/vsite\/vcontent\/content\/transnews\/0,10869,1181-144740-19728-15688-274985-15058-5039-layout169-161956-news-item,00.html\">London 2012 Olympic logo<\/a>: &quot;[V]ariously derided as an uninspiring emblem, a puerile mess, an artistic flop&#8230;<br \/>\nthe emblem was likened to a &#8216;broken swastika&#8217; and a &#8216;toileting monkey.&#8217;&quot;  Jeez&#8211;maybe they should have gone with a two-letter mnemonic (&quot;LO?&quot; &quot;OG?&quot;) and drawn less of a beating.
