{"id":12446,"date":"2007-08-13T18:21:27","date_gmt":"2007-08-13T18:21:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnackdev\/2007\/08\/im-back-with-a-chuckle.html"},"modified":"2007-08-13T18:21:27","modified_gmt":"2007-08-13T18:21:27","slug":"im_back_with_a_chuckle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/2007\/08\/13\/im_back_with_a_chuckle\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#039;m back, with a chuckle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I can&#8217;t claim to have returned from Ireland <em>tanned<\/em> (perma-cloud keeps everyone&#8217;s skin 255\/255\/255&#8211;my people!) or <em>rested<\/em> (a week of piloting a minivan down the &#8220;wrong&#8221; side of roads no wider than a cocktail straw leaves me shaking with <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/PTSD\">PTSD<\/a>), but I&#8217;m certainly <em>ready<\/em> to fire up the blog again.&#160; I plan to share some photos shortly.&#160; In the meantime, I&#8217;ll shake off the cobwebs with some a few things that made me smile today:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The kids at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freeloveforum.com\/\">freeloveforum<\/a> have created a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Hxx2KcPWWZg\">brilliant parody<\/a> of the breathless promo videos that we technology companies (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/products\/photoshop\/photoshop\/prophotographer\/\">Adobe<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/finalcutstudio\/action\/?movie=coenbrothers\">Apple<\/a>, etc.) can&#8217;t resist creating.&#160; With <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Hxx2KcPWWZg\">MS Paint<\/a>, &#8220;the <em>future&#8230;<\/em> is in the <em>past!&#8221;<\/em> [Via Alistair Lee]<\/li>\n<li> &#8220;Where do you live, anyway, a Simpsons cartoon?&#8221;&#160;  Elsewhere Mike Johnston of The Online Photographer shares his salty thoughts when looking at &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/theonlinephotographer.typepad.com\/the_online_photographer\/2007\/08\/photoshop-exces.html\">Photoshop excess<\/a>.&#8221;&#160; (See also his previous parody of <a href=\"http:\/\/theonlinephotographer.blogspot.com\/2006\/06\/great-photographers-on-internet.html\">clueless photoblog commenters<\/a>.) <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pantone\">PMS<\/a> 187 runs deep in my veins&#8230;&#8221; My art director pal Maria at Hallmark passes along the frisket-slashing stylings of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yJexyQT0l1c\">Original Design Gangster<\/a>.  Pour out a 40 for the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnack\/2007\/05\/freehand_no_lon.html\">dead homie<\/a>&#8230;\n<li>Update: Poor Eric Clapton.&#160; If someone photographed my every movement, I&#8217;m sure they&#8217;d catch stuff far dopier than this.&#160; Still, it&#8217;s kind of funny to see the ol&#8217; guy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/pages\/live\/articles\/news\/news.html?in_article_id=472172&amp;in_page_id=1770\">flummoxed by his lens cap<\/a>.  Maybe he should spend more time hanging around with <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Graham_Nash\">Graham Nash<\/a>.
