{"id":12465,"date":"2007-08-28T14:38:50","date_gmt":"2007-08-28T14:38:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnackdev\/2007\/08\/imaging-heavy-hitters-join-adobe.html"},"modified":"2007-08-28T14:38:50","modified_gmt":"2007-08-28T14:38:50","slug":"imaging_heavy_hitters_join_adobe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/2007\/08\/28\/imaging_heavy_hitters_join_adobe\/","title":{"rendered":"Imaging heavy hitters join Adobe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A number of rock stars from the world of image science have recently joined Adobe: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>That <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnack\/2007\/08\/holy_crapworthy.html\">crazy-cool image resizing demo<\/a> I mentioned last week continues to get <a href=\"http:\/\/www.techcrunch.com\/2007\/08\/27\/i-want-this-in-photoshop-immediately\/\">all kinds of attention<\/a>.&#160; I was therefore happy to learn that co-creator <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faculty.idc.ac.il\/avidan\/\"><b>Shai Avidan<\/b><\/a> joined the Adobe office in Newton, MA (just down the &#8216;pike from MIT) last Monday.&#160; Here&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.merl.com\/people\/avidan\/\">a bit more info and Shai&#8217;s photo<\/a>.  <\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/people.csail.mit.edu\/wojciech\/\"><b>Wojciech Matusik<\/b><\/a> began work at Adobe in May.&#160; He&#8217;s done some really cool work in the emerging fields of <a href=\"http:\/\/people.csail.mit.edu\/green\/multiaperture\/\">multi-aperture photography<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/people.csail.mit.edu\/wojciech\/3DTV\/index.html\">3D TV<\/a>, and much more.&#160; Like Shai, he works from the Newton office. <\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/people.csail.mit.edu\/sparis\/\"><b>Sylvain Paris<\/b><\/a> is due to join Adobe in a couple of weeks.&#160; He&#8217;s worked on techniques for <a href=\"http:\/\/people.csail.mit.edu\/soonmin\/photolook\/\">matching tones across photos<\/a> (&quot;Make my image pop like Ansel&#8217;s&quot;), generating 3D data from 2D captures, and more.
