{"id":12599,"date":"2007-12-26T08:29:44","date_gmt":"2007-12-26T08:29:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnackdev\/2007\/12\/whats-russian-for-photoshopping.html"},"modified":"2007-12-26T08:29:44","modified_gmt":"2007-12-26T08:29:44","slug":"whats_russian_for_photoshopping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/2007\/12\/26\/whats_russian_for_photoshopping\/","title":{"rendered":"What&#039;s Russian for &quot;Photoshopping&quot;?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ah, Russia&#8211;home to <a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/currency\/convert?amt=1&amp;from=USD&amp;to=RUB&amp;submit=Convert\">50-rouble<\/a> copies of your favorite Adobe apps.&#160; Photoshop team member Heather Dolan recently returned from a service trip there &amp; reports that pirated software remains ridiculously easy to obtain.&#160; When a street merchant learned that she was from Adobe, his response was to double his asking price for the Creative Suite!&#160; (You&#8217;ve kind of got to admire the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chutzpah\">chutzpah<\/a>&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>Even so, Adobe&#8217;s  business <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prophotohome.com\/forum\/photo-news\/74561-photoshop-news-feeds-adobe-grows-260-russia.html\">grew by 260% in Russia this past year<\/a>.&#160; And what&#8217;s more fun, Photoshop was honored at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wwaf.ru\/eng\/program\/\">KinoBlender film awards<\/a>.&#160; Moscow-based Adobe marketer Olga Manannikova writes, &quot;This award was conferred on the brand &#8216;Adobe Photoshop&#8217; for most often and successful unintended mentioning in Russian movies in 2007.&quot;&#160; The team attended the event &amp; got a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jnack.com\/adobe\/photoshop\/KinoBlender.jpg\">groovy little trophy<\/a> &amp; everything.
