{"id":12612,"date":"2008-01-04T14:42:32","date_gmt":"2008-01-04T14:42:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnackdev\/2008\/01\/recent-flash-coolness.html"},"modified":"2008-01-04T14:42:32","modified_gmt":"2008-01-04T14:42:32","slug":"recent_flash_coolness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/2008\/01\/04\/recent_flash_coolness\/","title":{"rendered":"Recent Flash coolness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some bits I&#8217;ve encountered in recent travels:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mrdoob.com\/\">Mr. Doob<\/a> is out of hand, creating all kinds of cool Flash experiments, 3D and otherwise.&#160; From the fireworks on the home page to a <a href=\"http:\/\/mrdoob.com\/blog\/\">blog full of examples<\/a>, the guy is keeping busy.&#160; I especially like <a href=\"http:\/\/mrdoob.com\/lab\/pv3d\/dof\/07\/\">this 3D cube<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/mrdoob.com\/lab\/pv3d\/dof\/04\/\">these spheres<\/a>, both showing off depth-of-field effects enabled by <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.papervision3d.org\/\">Papervision 3D<\/a>.&#160; This little <a href=\"http:\/\/mrdoob.com\/lab\/ape\/petrol\/01\/\">fluid simulation<\/a> is fun, too (reload the page to reconfigure the pieces). <\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.claracollins.com\/\">ClaraCollins.com<\/a> presents the fashion designer&#8217;s work in a novel way.  Mouse over the little arrows that sit above the pages of each portfolio, and you&#8217;ll see the images whip by in little time lapses.  You can also rotate each portfolio 180 degrees. [<a href=\"http:\/\/commandshift3.com\/site\/claracollins.com\">Via<\/a>]<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/layertennis.com\/071130\/01.php\">Layer Tennis comes to Flash<\/a> in a friendly clash between <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crashlander.com\/\">James Hutchinson<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trevorvanmeter.com\/\">Trevor Van Meter<\/a>. [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.daringfireball.net\">Via<\/a>] <\/li>\n<li>Reminding me why I could afford only 120 sq. ft. in Manhattan (hello, Brooklyn!), <a href=\"http:\/\/5thonthepark.com\/floor.php?ID=54&amp;unit=22F&amp;mode=th\">5th on the Park<\/a> offers 1,800 sq. ft. in Harlem&#8211;for a cool $1.6 mil.&#160; I mention it here because of the cool presentation of the building &amp; its units.&#160; You can roll over each face of the structure, clicking any unit to see its floor plan &amp; other details. [<a href=\"http:\/\/curbed.com\/\">Via<\/a>] <\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artisagift.com\/\">Art Is A Gift<\/a> uses a Flash UI to let you style a little &quot;Baby Qee&quot; critter.&#160; Check out the gallery section, as well as the &quot;About&quot; link that shows kids painting the real thing as art therapy.
