In just the last week we&#8217;ve seen a flurry of announcments: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DAZ 3D has announced a beta of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.daz3d.com\/i.x\/software\/studio\/-\/3d_photoshop_bridge\">3D Bridge for Photoshop<\/a>, a connecter between DAZ&#8217;s free <a href=\"http:\/\/www.daz3d.com\/i.x\/software\/studio\/lk17doac0o1cu54kv093ald485\/\">DAZ Studio<\/a> 3D editing app &amp; Photoshop.&#160; [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bone3d.com\/?p=114\">Via<\/a>] <\/li>\n<li>Strata has <a href=\"http:\/\/ca.news.finance.yahoo.com\/s\/24012008\/31\/link-finance-news-strata-tm-releases-upgrade-strata-cx-suite.html\">upgraded the Strata CX Suite<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.3dlayer.com\/\">3Dlayer.com<\/a> has launched to provide expert tips &amp; news specifically tailored to using 3D inside Photoshop. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.photoshopsupport.com\/photoshop-blog\/08\/01\/daz-studio-3d-photoshop-plugin.html\">DAZ launch announcement<\/a>, their tool lets you: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>View 3D scenes as Photoshop layers\n<\/li>\n<li>Change objects and figures simultaneously\n<\/li>\n<li>Render directly into Photoshop\n<\/li>\n<li>Import, export and modify image maps and textures onto 3D models in Photoshop\n<\/li>\n<li>Composite 2D and 3D content seamlessly\n<\/li>\n<li>Access DAZ\u2019s full library of quality 3D content&#160; [DAZ gives away the editing application &amp; sells adjustable content] <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As for the Strata news, &quot;In a nutshell, the technology from Strata\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/store.strata.com\/redirect.asp?click=3546&amp;p=3din\">3D[in] plug-ins<\/a> for Photoshop CS 3 Extended is now integrated into the Suite,&quot; says the crew on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.3dlayer.com\/?p=5\">3Dlayer.com<\/a>.&#160; With it you can: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Send a 3D model to PS as a 3D layer\n<\/li>\n<li>Send a finished rendering to PS as separate layers (shadow layer, reflection layer, color layer, etc)\n<\/li>\n<li>Send a PS image to a 3D background for tracing or placement\n<\/li>\n<li>Send a 3D model direct from PS to PDF or HTML and it embeds the 3D object (you read that correctly)\n<\/li>\n<li>Link PS files as 3D textures &#8211; changes made are automatically updated in the 3D texture<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Good stuff all around.&#160; We think that 3D in CS3 Extended is a big step forward, and of course we&#8217;re <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnack\/2007\/09\/adobes_3d_raytr.html\">not planning<\/a> to rest on those laurels.&#160; I love seeing great developers like Strata and DAZ jump on the opportunity to help enrich the story. <\/p>\n<p>By the way, did you know that you can browse the Google 3D Warehouse right from within Photoshop CS3 Extended?&#160;
