The resulting film\u2014<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HxVwAKxg1MQ\">The Kid Stays In The Picture<\/a><\/em>\u2014lent its name to the distinctive effect (see <a href=\"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/2018\/10\/18\/seriously-cool-parallax-generation-tech-from-adobe\/\">previous<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now I&#8217;m delighted that Google Photos is <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/products\/photos\/new-cinematic-photos-and-more-ways-relive-your-memories\/\">rolling out<\/a> similar output to its billion+ users, without requiring any effort or tools:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>We use machine learning to predict an image\u2019s depth and produce a 3D representation of the scene\u2014even if the original image doesn\u2019t include depth information from the camera.
