(And before anyone flips out, let me say that A) I\u2019m trying to be evenhanded in the distribution of links below, and B) I picked things to share based not on political affiliation, but based on creative\/graphical interestingness.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">&#160;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0\">\n<li>Comics:\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n<li>IDW Publishing has created <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comicbookresources.com\/?page=article&amp;id=18262\">comic book biographies<\/a> of the two presidential candidates. [<a href=\"http:\/\/eduardoangel.wordpress.com\/2008\/10\/15\/numbers-popularity-graphs-that-lie-and-comic-book-biographies\/\">Via<\/a>]<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, in the Marvel universe, Stephen Colbert is a presidential candidate, so naturally (?) he\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marvel.com\/news\/comicstories.5119.Spider-Man_&amp;_Stephen_Colbert_Team_Up\">teaming up with Spiderman<\/a>. [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.subtraction.com\/\">Via<\/a>]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Start your day right with <a href=\"http:\/\/airbedandbreakfast.com\/capnmccains\">Cap\u2019n McCain\u2019s<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/airbedandbreakfast.com\/obamaos\">Obamaos<\/a> (and annoying jingles!).<\/li>\n<li>MC Yogi\u2019s pro-Obama <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/1891426\">video<\/a> shows skillful type chops. [<a href=\"http:\/\/designobserver.com\/archives\/observed.html?id=39431\">Via<\/a>]<\/li>\n<li>Ceremonial fruit orbs:\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\">\n<li>Better Homes and Gardens offers downloadable <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bhg.com\/app\/voting\/index.jsp?id=\/templatedata\/bhg\/voting\/data\/1222705581456.xml&amp;sid=4\">pumpkin-carving stencils<\/a> for creating the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.core77.com\/blog\/object_culture\/political_pumpkin_art_11487.asp\">likenesses of the candidates<\/a>, not to mention media figures from Colbert to Oprah.<\/li>\n<li>Orange State\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/yeswecarve.com\/\">Yes We Carve<\/a> project is all Obama, all the time.<\/li>\n<li>You may just want to tune out the politics, rocking out with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.walyou.com\/blog\/2008\/10\/17\/pumpkin-faces\/\">Yoda, Space Invaders<\/a>, and other geekery. [<a href=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~r\/CoudalFreshSignals\/~3\/427404748\/34_geeky_pumpki.php\">Via<\/a>]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Posters:\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.designforobama.org\/about.php\">Designers for Obama<\/a> brings together graphic artists in support of the candidate.  Examples feature some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.designforobama.org\/index.php?p=43&amp;sort=tv\">cool typography<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.designforobama.org\/index.php?p=149&amp;sort=tv\">color palettes<\/a>.  In a similar vein the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.obamaartreport.com\/\">Obama Art Report<\/a> shows off more solid <a href=\"http:\/\/static.thundervote.com\/images\/poster24x36.png\">illustration<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"http:\/\/store.barackobama.com\/v\/vspfiles\/photos\/PO40260-3.jpg\">type<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile community-made McCain posters are on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zazzle.com\/politics\/tl-john_mccain_posters\">Zazzle<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/art.cafepress.com\/john-mccain_posters\">CafePress<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The NY Times features an interactive presentation that tracks their editorial <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2008\/10\/23\/opinion\/20081024-endorse.html\">endorsements for president through history<\/a>, including blurbs from the endorsements, links to full articles, and an indication of which candidate prevailed.<\/li>\n<li>Well, you can\u2019t say you don\u2019t know what to expect with this one: <a href=\"http:\/\/brokershandsontheirfacesblog.tumblr.com\/\">The Brokers With Their Hands On Faces Blog<\/a>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The US presidential election is motivating all kinds of creativity, from posters to pumpkins.
