{"id":16318,"date":"2010-04-12T02:02:42","date_gmt":"2010-04-12T02:02:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnackdev\/2010\/04\/cs5-is-alive.html"},"modified":"2010-04-12T02:02:42","modified_gmt":"2010-04-12T02:02:42","slug":"cs5_is_alive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/2010\/04\/12\/cs5_is_alive\/","title":{"rendered":"CS5 is Alive!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I couldn&#8217;t be happier in saying that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/aboutadobe\/pressroom\/pressreleases\/201004\/041210AdobePhotoshopCS5.html\">Photoshop CS5 has been announced<\/a>, along with <a href=\"http:\/\/eon.businesswire.com\/portal\/site\/eon\/permalink\/?ndmViewId=news_view&amp;newsId=20100412005801&amp;newsLang=en\">the entire Creative Suite 5 family of products<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Check out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/products\/photoshop\/photoshop\/whatsnew\/\">what&#8217;s new in Photoshop<\/a> (images &amp; quick videos) as well as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/products\/photoshop\/photoshopextended\/whatsnew\/\">3D functionality added to Photoshop Extended<\/a>.  I&#8217;m especially happy to say that Photoshop is now a fully native 64-bit application for both Mac and Windows (as are After Effects and Premiere Pro), letting you tap into all your computer&#8217;s memory.<\/p>\n<p>Man, where to begin&#8230; I already have two dozen blog posts in draft form (!), running the gamut from big new stuff to the many, <em>many<\/em> little tweaks we&#8217;ve made that I think you&#8217;ll really enjoy.  I&#8217;ve started a <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnack\/cs5\/\">CS5 category here<\/a> that you can use to view all related info quickly; much more to come shortly.<\/p>\n<p>In no particular order, here are good resources you might want to check out:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.photoshopuser.com\/cs5\">NAPP Learning Center<\/a> will likely be chock full of good content by the time you read this, as should the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.photoshopcafe.com\/cs5\/\">Photoshop Cafe CS5 Superguide<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Computer Arts covers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.computerarts.co.uk\/in_depth\/features\/40_new_features_in_cs5\">40 new features across the Suite<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>My fellow PM Bryan O&#8217;Neil Hughes <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpreview.com\/news\/1004\/10041202adobediscussescs5.asp\">talks photography features<\/a> (lens correction, Refine Edge, totally revamped HDR, Camera Raw 6.0, Mini Bridge, Content-Aware Fill, and more) with DP Review.<\/li>\n<li>Showing how <a href=\"http:\/\/thomashawk.com\/2010\/04\/adobe-photoshop-cs5-boldly-empowers-the-digital-artist.html\">CS5 makes painting accessible to photographers<\/a>, Thomas Hawk writes, &#8220;I&#8217;ve been using Photoshop for many years now but this version has blown me away like none that I&#8217;ve ever seen.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>The team at Lynda.com has posted <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lynda.com\/home\/ViewCourses.aspx?lpk0=803&amp;utm_source=jnack_blog&amp;utm_medium=partner&amp;utm_content=jnack_blog&amp;utm_campaign=AdobeCS5\">12 preview courses that span the range of CS5 apps<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The TipSquirrel guys have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tipsquirrel.com\/\">a bunch of Photoshop overviews planned<\/a> for the next couple of weeks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll keep adding good ones as they appear (suggestions most welcome via comments or <a href=\"mailto:tinyElvis@adobe.com\">email<\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I couldn&#8217;t be happier in saying that Photoshop CS5 has been announced, along with the entire Creative Suite 5 family of products!
