In reality it could animate just about any face in a photo, but I give them tons of credit for framing the tech in a really emotionally resonant way. It offered not a random capability, but rather a magical window into one&#8217;s roots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now the company is <a href=\"https:\/\/petapixel.com\/2022\/11\/18\/ai-time-machine-allows-you-to-picture-yourself-in-any-historical-period\/\">licensing tech<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.strmr.com\/\">Astria<\/a>, which itself builds on Stable Diffusion &amp; Google Research&#8217;s DreamBooth paper. They later introduced the much more ambitious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myheritage.com\/deepstory?tr_id=m_6g4i0lw5yw_aot538e456\">DeepStory<\/a>, which lets you literally put words in your ancestors&#8217; mouths. That seems not to have bent the overall needle in awareness, at least in the way that the earlier offering did.
