I took to photographing one of these dudes everywhere I went\u2014e.g. out in Death Valley:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/TheSarge.jpg\" alt=\"The Sarge\" width=\"600\" height=\"481\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-222\" srcset=\"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/TheSarge.jpg 600w, http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/TheSarge-300x240.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Noting his tendency to pop up a la the ubiquitous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=goldbug+richard+scarry&#038;espv=210&#038;es_sm=91&#038;tbm=isch&#038;tbo=u&#038;source=univ&#038;sa=X&#038;ei=uaATU-HtIIOEogSarYGQBA&#038;ved=0CCkQsAQ\">Goldbug<\/a> in Richard Scarry stories, we granted him the rank of Sgt. Goldbug. I&#8217;m reminded of this seeing photographer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fastcocreate.com\/3026935\/everything-about-these-pictures-of-a-tiny-adventurous-lego-photographer-is-awesome\">Andrew Whyte&#8217;s much superior series<\/a> featuring a Lego minifig:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fastcocreate.com\/3026935\/everything-about-these-pictures-of-a-tiny-adventurous-lego-photographer-is-awesome\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/MinifigCrab.jpg\" alt=\"MinifigCrab\" width=\"600\" height=\"434\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-223\" srcset=\"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/MinifigCrab.jpg 600w, http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/MinifigCrab-300x217.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Of the project he says,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI love to document everyday things and build them into mini-series,\u201d Whyte says. \u201cBut quite often there&#8217;s nothing cohesive about what I shoot from one day to the next. As soon as my kids discovered the camera accessory at the Lego store, which fits in the hand of a mini-figure, I worked out a way to start placing the character in my day-to-day shots and he became a cohesive element.
