Maybe it still will, but for most uses, it became clear (as maybe it should have been at the start) that very little content demands or rewards live viewing. The Snapchat-pioneered stories format, by contrast, <em>feels<\/em>\u00a0live but offers just enough curation &amp; control for both creators &amp; viewers that it\u2019s dramatically more compelling for most occasions.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, the jury remains out on VR, but I\u2019m glad to see more experiments getting underway. Now Google is using the compact Jump camera rig to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blog.google\/products\/google-vr\/introducing-original-vr-video-series-mlb-and-daydream\/\">partner with MLB<\/a>\u00a0in telling young players\u2019 stories. Engadget <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2017\/07\/27\/google-mlb-daydream-vr-videos\/\">writes<\/a>,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>[T]he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2016\/11\/03\/nfl-vr-series-youtube-google-daydream\/\">NFL partnered with Google Daydream<\/a> to produce an exclusive series called All or Nothing last year. Major League Baseball has also collaborated with Google Daydream on a video game and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2017\/05\/18\/mlb-at-bat-vr-push-360-degree-live-games\/\">MLB.com At Bat app<\/a>.
