{"id":8065,"date":"2019-01-14T00:04:19","date_gmt":"2019-01-14T08:04:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/?p=8065"},"modified":"2019-01-14T00:06:47","modified_gmt":"2019-01-14T08:06:47","slug":"a-little-maritime-drone-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/2019\/01\/14\/a-little-maritime-drone-fun\/","title":{"rendered":"A little maritime drone fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The lads and I are just back from an overnight visit to the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/USS_Hornet_(CV-12)\">USS Hornet<\/a>, a decorated World War II-era carrier we <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jnack.com\/micronaxx\/2012\/05\/15\/armadas-large-small\/\">last visited<\/a> some 7 years ago. This time around we spent the night with our Cub Scout pack &amp; several hundred other scouts &amp; parents from around the area. On the whole we had a ball <a href=\"https:\/\/photos.app.goo.gl\/f2SVNxxs9V9QsKwx7\">touring the ship<\/a>, and I had a little fun flying my drone over the Hornet &amp; her adjacent Navy ships:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"604\" height=\"340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EFRRGiqLCy0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And here\u2019s an interactive 360\u00ba panorama from overhead. (Obligatory nerdy sidenote: This is the JPEG version stitched on the fly by the drone, and although I was able to stitch the raw source images in Camera Raw &amp; get better color\/done, I\u2019ll be damned if I can figure out how to inject the proper metadata to make it display right.
