The LA Times is offering \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/projects\/best-burgers-los-angeles\/\">an augmented reality check on our favorite burgers<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NewImage.png\" src=\"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/NewImage-8.png\" alt=\"NewImage\" width=\"600\" height=\"263\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve gotta say, they look pretty gnarly in 3D (below). I wonder whether these creepy photogrammetry(?)-produced results are net-appealing to customers. I have the same question about AR clothing try-on: even if we make it magically super accurate, do I really want&nbsp;to see my imperfect self rocking some blazer or watch, or would I rather see a photo of Daniel Craig doing it &amp; just buy the dream that I\u2019ll look similar?<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, I found the visual appearance much more pleasing when&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/photos.app.goo.gl\/hqiLNE9XCLD7Y4yH6\">rendered in AR on my phone<\/a>&nbsp;vs. when rendered in 3D on my Mac, at least unless I zoomed in excessively.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NewImage.png\" src=\"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/NewImage-9.png\" alt=\"NewImage\" width=\"599\" height=\"443\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here\u2019s an\u2026 appetizing one?
