Meanwhile my colleagues have been working on data-gathering that&#8217;ll use this system to help people navigate via augmented reality. As <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2021\/03\/30\/google-promises-better-3d-maps\/\">TechCrunch writes<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>Indoor Live View is the flashiest of these. Google\u2019s existing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/products\/maps\/new-sense-direction-live-view\/\">AR Live View walking directions<\/a>\u00a0currently only work outdoors, but thanks to some advances in its technology to recognize where exactly you are (even without a good GPS signal), the company is now able to bring this indoors.<\/p><p>This feature is already live in some malls in the U.S. in\u00a0Chicago, Long Island, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, San Jose and Seattle, but in the coming months, it\u2019ll come to select airports, malls and transit stations in Tokyo and Zurich as well (just in time for vaccines to arrive and travel to \u2014 maybe \u2014 rebound).
