{"id":16022,"date":"2009-09-18T09:38:13","date_gmt":"2009-09-18T09:38:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnackdev\/2009\/09\/adobe-co-founders-to-be-honored-by-president-obama.html"},"modified":"2009-09-18T09:38:13","modified_gmt":"2009-09-18T09:38:13","slug":"adobe_co_founders_to_be_honored_by_preside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/2009\/09\/18\/adobe_co_founders_to_be_honored_by_preside\/","title":{"rendered":"Adobe co-founders to be honored by President Obama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wow&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/the_press_office\/President-Honors-Nations-Top-Scientists-and-Innovators\/\">very cool news<\/a> from Washington.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/ci_13360517\">According to the Merc<\/a>,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>President Obama Thursday picked Adobe Systems co-founders Charles Geschke and John Warnock to receive one of the nation&#8217;s highest honors bestowed on scientists, engineers and inventors &#8212; the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.<\/p>\n<p>Geschke and Warnock were chosen &#8220;for their pioneering contributions that spurred the desktop publishing revolution and for changing the way people create and engage with information and entertainment across multiple mediums including print, Web and video,&#8221; according to a White House press release. <\/p>\n<p>The pair, who will receive the award at an Oct. 7 White House ceremony, founded Adobe in 1982 and serve as co-chairman of the San Jose software company known for its editing, graphic design and Web development tools, which include its widely used Acrobat and Photoshop products.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Congrats, Drs. Warnock and Geschke!
