{"id":17150,"date":"2011-09-12T09:00:54","date_gmt":"2011-09-12T16:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/jnack\/?p=4928"},"modified":"2011-09-12T09:00:54","modified_gmt":"2011-09-12T16:00:54","slug":"download-preview-2-of-adobes-html5-animation-tool-edge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/2011\/09\/12\/download-preview-2-of-adobes-html5-animation-tool-edge\/","title":{"rendered":"Download Preview 2 of Adobe&#039;s HTML5 animation tool, Edge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/labs.adobe.com\/technologies\/edge\/\">The second public release of Adobe Edge<\/a> features a range of user-requested enhancements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Smart guides<\/strong> \u2014 Precision guide and dimension markers are displayed when an object on the stage is moved\/resized, helping to align objects in relation to others.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Specify semantic tags on managed elements<\/strong> \u2014 Change the tag type of each shape, image and text in Edge to reflect appearance in the HTML document object model (DOM).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Copy and paste elements<\/strong> \u2014 You can now copy and paste elements in Edge, to easily duplicate shapes, images or text. Duplicate images will refer to the same underlying asset.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Align and distribute elements<\/strong> \u2014 Select multiple elements, and align and distribute them via new options in the Modify menu.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Drag and drop z-index manipulation<\/strong> \u2014 In the elements panel, you can now control the z-order of shapes, text and images created in Edge.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Playhead time editing<\/strong> \u2014 You can now type into the timeline\u2019s counter to move the playhead to a specific location, or by dragging the numeric value up or down with your mouse.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Windows 7 update<\/strong> \u2014 An error on the Windows version causing Edge to crash on startup is resolved, no longer requiring users to change the display bit depth from 32-bit to 16-bit.<\/li>\n<li><strong>jQuery update<\/strong> \u2014 Edge\u2019s animation framework now works with the latest jQuery 1.6.2.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Edge remains a work in progress, so as always <a href=\"http:\/\/forums.adobe.com\/community\/labs\/edge\/\">the team is eager to hear your feedback<\/a> (and to see what you can create).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The second public release of Adobe Edge features a range of user-requested enhancements: Smart guides \u2014 Precision guide and dimension markers are displayed when an object on the stage is moved\/resized, helping to align objects in relation to others.
