I&#8217;m wholly unsurprised to learn that he knows photographer\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.shainblumphoto.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Shainblum<\/a>, who went to even more extraordinary lengths to capture this image of the Milky Way together with the Golden Gate Bridge:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"EPIC MILKY WAY Photography with the GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE\" width=\"604\" height=\"340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/q5xYZpJ1XPg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>PetaPixel <a href=\"https:\/\/petapixel.com\/2022\/01\/03\/fog-allows-for-impossible-photo-of-milky-way-over-golden-gate-bridge\/\">writes<\/a>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u201cI think this was the perfect balance of a few different things,\u201d he explains. \u201cThe fog was thick and low enough to really block out most of the light pollution from the city, but the fog had also traveled so far inland that it covered most of the eastern bay as well. The clouds above just the eastern side around the cities may have also helped. The last thing is the time of evening and time of the season.
