If I get one, I&#8217;ll have adventures!<\/li>\n<li>Go shoot a bunch of footage, sit down to watch it.<\/li>\n<li>Wow, this is\u2026 dull. But hey, I\u2019m gonna get around to watching it &amp; editing down to the good parts\u2026 [never].<\/li>\n<li>Also, I don\u2019t have a lot of adventures.<\/li>\n<li>These new cams are cool, but I didn\u2019t really use my current one, so\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And thus to address their \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2016-01-15\/gopro-s-achilles-heel-video-editing-software-isn-t-apple-easy\">Achille\u2019s heel<\/a>,&#8221; GoPro <a href=\"http:\/\/investor.gopro.com\/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=957893\">just spent $100M+<\/a> buying Stupeflix, makers of the excellent Replay movie-making app (Apple\u2019s 2014 App of the Year) as well as video editor Splice. Congrats to the makers of these excellent tools. I\u2019m really eager to see what they can do together &amp; with GoPro.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile GoPro competitor the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tomtom.com\/en_us\/action-camera\/action-camera\/?icmp=\">TomTom Bandit<\/a> uses <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tomtom.com\/en_us\/action-camera\/automated-highlights\/\">sensor data<\/a> (speed, G-force, even max heart rate) to annotate what it captures (see below). As someone who knows just how hard it is for software to discern the really important moments in a video (Cf. the movies feature in Google Photos), I\u2019m excited to see richer data sets captured &amp; surfaced to users.
