Last week, I, for one, watched a very important television progtam, one that every person should be required to watch, one that should hang on the doorways of every classroom in the nation, including the ones in Nebraska. What I'm talking about here was a panel discussion about racism on ESPN.

Bob Ley moderated it. That's how important it is.

This is vital It was informative and interesting, and should be watched repeatedly, as many times as "True Crime" starring Alicia Silverstone (which will be following the broadcast on Cinemax). One of the most important aspects about the program was the fact that it occurred, and that I watched it. If either one of these links in the chain were missing, you would have some serious problems.

Simply talking about race relations is a project which President Clinton advocates and has allocated $2.2 million dollars American. President Clinton is a wise and wonderful human being, and it would be a great embarrassment to the United States if he taped a television program and we do not watch.

Today, the Inquisition runs the first of five articles in support of television programs supporting discussions about race relations. It is the kind of series that makes the Chicago Tribune want to shut down in embarrassment and humiliation, the kind of series that Socrates would write if he was alive and wrote newspaper articles.

I believe it is important to take a moment to discuss discussion while simultaneously calling it into question.

We will be outing several gay professors and students. This is vital. Those afflicted with closed minds will ignore this series, especially part 3. They will be persecuted.

It is my wish that when I leave Notre Dame, my parents will give me a BMW and an upper-level management position.

I also hope that we consider the feelings of other people and discuss those feelings in good faith on a television broadcast. It can only be construed as good.
