Garrity Transfigured

STEPAN -- Pat Garrity was Transfigured during the Bookstore all-star game this year. The miracle took place at halftime and has already been confirmed by the local Bishop.

As the first half came to a close, Garrity's uniform became shining white -- whiter than anyone at St. Michael's laundry could have made them. Spectators watched in awe as Elijah and Moses spoke with Garrity, engaging in a lively debate concerning Transubstantiation and the vitality of full court trapping defense in the NBA today.

Garrity spoke briefly to reporters, following the Transfiguration. "Tell no one what you have seen, until I am drafted," said Garrity, "especially, you should say nothing to Derek Manner, who will have no peace on heaven or earth, until on the last day he is driven from the gates of my House."

The reporters immediately filed their stories with the associated press.

The Transfiguration of Garrity is not expected to affect his draft status. "There is no presence for a being that exists outside the physical plain playing in NBA games," said David Stern, Commissioner of the NBA, "however, we do feel that should any supernatural events take place during a game, they will be evaulated on a case-by-case basis."

"Forgive him," replied Garrity, "he does not understand that whatsoever he does to Me, so he does to the least of my brothers--specifically, Matt Loughran."

Get thee behind me, Derek Manner Father Richard McBrien was not present at the game, but commented immediately on what had happened there, saying, "You can't get caught up in all that miracle business if you want to understand what I'm saying about Catholicism."

Following the game, Garrity resisted a series of temptations. Filling in for the vacationing Satan was TV's Melissa Joan Hart. Garrity then gathered apostles from the Seattle SuperSonics, saying "Come with me, and I will make you Supers of Sonic - uh, I will make you great." He assigned the apostles letters to the Ephesians, Corinthians and Cavaliers.

Garrity's admission to the Holy Trinity (which will now be renamed the Holy Zone) is not expected to affect his representation by Leigh Steinberg.
