Letter to the editor: Take Time to Remember Times Past
I just want everyone at Notre Dame to remember to take time to remember times past, for once they are past, they are no longer present and are not happening anymore. You often realize when you come back to a place where you have been before that once you were here, but now you are not and are not therefore experiencing those things which you did experience during the times that you were here. Often these past times are the happiest times, since you don't plan to leave Notre Dame, or, if you are like me, you have no marketable skills and without a $30,000-per-year fantasy land to enjoy, your life become dreary and unfulfilling. I live a life now without the flowers and football games and co-eds eager to fulfill my every sensuous desire in violation of University policies which we once despised but now crave because we are gone and unable to enjoy college anymore and therefore we sink into deep, deep depression concerning our past lives which are not (have I mentioned this) as good as our present lives which do not involve Notre Dame, except as a memory, which all of you will want to enjoy in the future, but will not because you cannot remember to make a memory of time gone by forever.
