Lightroom 2.4 (Mac|Win) and Camera Raw 5.4 (Mac|Win) are now available as final releases on Adobe.com and through the update mechanisms (Help->Updates) in Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom 2. According to the Lightroom Journal, these updates include camera support for the following models:

Probably doesn’t matter too much, but the Windows installer comes up and says, “Photoshop Camera Raw (64 bit)” even with the 32 bit instal, so it might cause some confusion, particularly if someone is running only 32 bit PS on a 64 bit system for some reason.
It would be better if it correctly identified what it was doing (32 bit or 64 bit or both).
Features.
I really enjoy working with camera raw since the 5.3 update with the new pen tools (ajusting expo on zone), but on thing is missing from that feature.
it could be amazing to be able to use curves (and target ajustment tools) on a specific zone (define with the pen tools) today, with can only use expo, clarity, brightness and contrast on a zone, but no curves, no specifics hue change, or spĂ©cific black&white..) so being able to do it will be great…

Is there any other fixes made in the Camera Raw code except more camera-format support? (as with Lightroom here)
[Nope, no other fixes or changes besides adding some DNG conversion options (as detailed on the LR Journal blog). –J.]
The Camera Raw update failed to install on my Vista machine until I chose the option to continue the update after the next restart.
After the restart, the installation continued automatically and completed successfully.
Anyone having trouble getting it to install on Vista might want to consider using the option.

I can’t get the installer to work as the ‘Continue’ button on the Introduction page is greyed out, so you can’t progress past that page. Downloaded the dmg twice, just in case.

The “Attaching” window / progress bar show for about 30 seconds while the dmg opens.

I was glad to see the installer, thinking it would be a huge help to my clients who are challenged by the process of replacing the plugins manually. At first I thought the problem was just the installer progress bar, repeatedly reloading and completing but like others, it just fails. Patiently awaiting the update. -je
Now I see what’s happening. The Mac installer didn’t fail. The progress bar reported on every file within the package and all their successive installs, rather than one global progress report. Hope that makes sense. The process takes a couple of minutes and ‘has the look’ of something problematic but really is working successfully. -je
