How can I be sure the new plugins are actually new.
specifically DisableScratchCompress.plugin”.
It seems to be the same version as the one I had installed ?

We didn’t change any of the actual extension plug-ins. DisableScratchCompress.plugin should be the same version, 20100407.r.1103.
The problem was the old installer was giving you every extension on install. We’ve modified the way the optional plug-ins are delivered, so that you can choose which select extension to install (IOW, manual installation vs. auto installation).
