Demo: Exporting Images from Lightroom 4

Good to know:

In this Episode of The Complete Picture, Julieanne demonstrates the advantage of setting up presets in Lightroom to simultaneously export images to multiple file types, sizes, compression settings etc. You might find even find this method more powerful than Photoshop’s Image Processor!

  1. I use the Export function all the time and really like it. One powerful addition to Export’s functionality would be the ability to batch a set of presets. So instead of having to choose multiple presets one at a time, I could select my files, choose, say the batch folder which contained the presets, and output all of my file types in one shot. The other thing that would be enormously helpful would be to be able to choose an export location for the batch on the fly. Presets are great if you are always exporting to the same folder, but usually I’m exporting the final images to folders inside the job’s master folder which changes every job. So if I were asked to choose the parent folder to save the batched files into, and the files from each preset went into their own individual folder specified in the preset inside of the parent filder, then I’d save a lot of time.
