dang! – thought you maybe had a typo in the title (we here are only convinced by Anti-Gravity Smart Object Modeling …) [Heh—we’ll float that up to the Creative Cloud straightaway. 🙂 –J.]
Looks like a 3D type printing system, where it is ejecting some resin and the two shiny metal can looking things on either side are probably blow so very hot air this hardens it very quickly.
Like if we could paint lines with a forever full tube of toothpaste.
very cool. if i had a robot to play with i hope i could come up with something as good!
the resin is some 2-part adhesive system that is being mixed in the plastic applicator tip. there’s a series of back and forth baffles that mix the resin and the hardener. inside it sort of looks like that old ribbon candy that my grandmother always had. you can find the same thing on special double barreled caulk guns at a lumber yard for applying 2-part adhesives to composite resin “lumber.” the twin side nozzles look exactly like the nozzle of my heat gun, so it’s safe to assume they are blasting the resin with heat to cure it quickly. i wonder if the video is actual speed, or if it’s been sped up…
Very cool! Reminds me of a good stick-balancing performance:
