New Sony QX cams: Possibly brilliant (?)

I’m deeply intrigued by the new Sony QX10 & QX100 cameras, which use your smartphone as a viewfinder:

Big zoom plus real bokeh from an iPhone, especially during video? You have my strict attention.
DPReview finds the cams “a bit underwhelming,” and a bunch of questions remain unanswered for me (e.g. can one transfer video wirelessly? how long does it take to transfer stills?). Even so, I’m optimistic, and I’ve asked Photojojo to let me know when they’re ready to order.

  1. They say the cameras are “a bit underwhelming” for the lack of RAW support and full manual mode.
I don’t think the target audience cares for RAW, at least not yet.
I am very interested myself. I already have a DSLR (Sony A77 and quite some lenses) but I already contemplated the idea of getting a small camera that I can walk around with, like a NEX one. The QX line just might be the answer.

  2. Very interesting feature on the QX10, I have noticed that these Lens-style Cameras are the newest things that are hot right now. I wonder what the battery life is like?

  3. But what about L—A—G between the lens and the phone?
Haven’t found anything using a phone that doesn’t lag into yesterday.
