Mock executions, Notre Dame football, and "I'll see you in hell": My path to Adobe

“And you may ask yourself, Well, how did I get here…?”

And if you ask me, the answer will sound much like this podcast I did with Marc Edwards, Rene Ritchie, and Seth Clifford. I enjoyed wildly digressing with these guys about my semi-bizarre path to this gig, the challenges of building Photoshop & new apps, and more. I hope you enjoy it, too. Towards the end I talk about the possible mobile future of Photoshop & Lightroom.

  1. Long but informative. I suppose the long was informative as well. MAS
We really need the Lightroom on iPad working soon!
If you really want to know how a customer feels toward Adobe, you must find someone with a problem to solve and then pose as them and try to get a resolution out of Adobe’s customer service. I shudder to think how many people walk away saying they’ll never use Adobe again based on customer service.
I went through a two month long issue with them and was at the point that my issue had gotten worse because they couldn’t understand english. In fact, I’d still be going on if my friend who is Manger of an Adobe User Group here in the KC area hadn’t had the same problem and had finally found out about how to find the Twitter group who solved the issue same day.
Try dealing with them under a pseudonym, you’ll have a lovely day. P.S. they’re especially dense on issues of the CC. No surprise since Adobe stepped off that cliff and is still trying to fly something that’s barely air worthy.
Still no exit strategy. Lowering the cost is only a temporary answer. Sooner or later, the cost will go up and people will no longer be able to afford it and have to bail, at which time they’ll either go with someone else or pirate. Both will be available soon.
