  1. Cool. I don’t want this for my phone, I want it for my Micro Four Thirds and APS-C cameras which both could benefit from more d.o.f. control. It looks like the resolution would be limited to the camera’s video recording resolution, unfortunately.
    How many images shot with the circular view technique would it take to make a Photoshop “synthetic aperture merge” result look good?

  2. That’s a great suggestion – using SynthCam on a “real” camera (like a Micro Four Thirds) to simulate a camera with an even larger aperture. Unfortunately, none of those cameras are programmable. Yet. -Marc Levoy P.S. I’m working on ways to increase the resolution of my synthetic images beyond video res; stay tuned.
