Leica short film recreates 35 iconic photos

If you can get past the blowhardy, self-aggrandizing narrative, you’ll likely dig this clever recreation of shots taken over the course of Leica’s 100-year history:

  1. It’s somehow fitting that the series of restaged photographs ends with a simulacrum of Capa’s “Falling Soldier,” which itself is very likely inauthentic. Given the narration, it’s doubtful that Leica intended to be quite so meta.

  2. “Leica took the camera out of the studio and placed it into real life.”

The Kodak Brownie was introduced in 1900 — more than 100 years ago.
