Midnight Sun

“For 17 days,” writes Joe Capra, “I travelled solo around the entire island shooting almost 24 hours, sleeping in the car, and eating whenever I had the time. During my days shooting this film I shot 38,000 images, travelled some 2900 miles, and saw some of the most amazing, beautiful, and indescribable landscapes on the planet.”
Joe used Lightroom (with an assist from LRTimelapse) and the new After Effects Warp Stabilizer to create this piece. For more info on the project, check out this interview with Michael Levy Studio.

  1. Very nice and interesting timelapse of a beautiful island. Well done Joe.
I think you must have seen fantastic colors in the landscape. But for my eyes the colors of some scenes seems to be editted a little bit over the top.

  2. I can’t be the only one getting tired of these landscape time-lapse “movies” and the often grating music that accompanies them.
[Feel free to get your own blog and find something interesting to post every single day. For bonus points make sure that doing so isn’t your actual job & is rather a labor of love you squeeze into nights and weekends. Season to taste. –J.]

  3. no word about the new adobe upgrade policy?
[Unfortunately I have to wait for others to reply. –J.]
ashamed about how adobe is fucking it´s customers?
cs 5 or 5.5 has nothing i need so why should i buy it. and now no upgrade path from cs 4 to cs 6.
and by the way.. adobe can stick that subscription program where the sun don´t shine…

  4. Not tired of it all J. Love your blog and all of the gems I find on it. Often share with others who are equally excited. Thanks for making the time. I greatly appreciate it.

  5. This is just gorgeous. And nice comeback on whoever came here, watched it, then lamented that the genre is getting old. I’ve traveled a lot Vietnam & Cambodia, a style of travel I call “character building.” Trying to decide where to go next & this encourages me & reminds me there are places hopefully not totally ruined by people.
