Video: An optical illusion for public safety

“You’re probably not expecting kids to run out on the road.” Nor, presumably, are you expecting that event to be simulated via large street art. Is this effort helpful, alarming, desensitizing? I don’t know, but it’s certainly interesting.

  1. It is a way of conditioning drivers to ignore children playing on the street. And thus they will not stop if there is a real kid in the street.

  2. This is the sort of visual cue that may be useful before an area that may have a lot of kids like a school/play area.
    Cardboard police cars have reduced drivers speed.
