I’m pleased to see that the pen & ruler once dubbed Mighty & Napoleon are now available from Adobe, together with Line (for precision drafting, including in perspective) and Sketch (drawing with built-in community). Check out Brian Yap’s Dia De Los Muertos illustration plus Terry White’s overview demo:
Having spent years trying to get rotatable guides & snap-to-path functionality into Photoshop (hope springs eternal!), I’m really eager to take Slide & Line for a literal spin.
The hardware ships together for $199. What do you think?

John, I watched the live presentation yesterday and had also found Terry’s demo today. Don’t personally have an iPad 4 or better, so won’t be trying this stuff out by myself anytime too soon. But, candidly, I really think that there ought to be a “Paint” app, somewheres-in-the-space between Sketch and Photoshop Mix. Adobe has teased many folks, many times, on that (painting) front – so maybe it’s still in the works. There was one that looked promising in “The People’s Apps” initiative … https://www.behance.net/wip/215939
Also, it was my feeling that Slide almost got usurped in-the-end by Adobe’s software skills. (I think it’s likely that a lot of folks will in fact prefer to have one hand using Ink and the other for gestural control on the iPad, rather than needing to handle both devices simultaneously).
Finally, the thing that’s gone largely unnoticed in the CC 2014 hoopla phase is the Adobe creative SDK opening – this could work out to be the biggest move and development of all. It’s written about thoughtfully well here: http://www.theverge.com/2014/6/18/5818192/adobe-ink-and-slide-review
