Absolutely fantastic video John; seriously cannot wait to get my hands on CS5.
Favourite parts??? Just has to be the new HDR Pro; looks incredible. I think there’s gonna be a few hardcore PhotoMatix fans shifting their loyalty pretty soon.
The masking has to be seen to be believed but to top it, the Content Aware Fill. Now that is just surreal. i’m still struggling to comprehend what I’ve just seen!!!
Question for you….Is it gonna be possible to upgrade from the standard version of Photoshop CS4 to Photoshop CS5 Extended?
Great post as always John; exciting times ahead.
All the best to you,
Glyn
Question for you….Is it gonna be possible to upgrade from the standard version of Photoshop CS4 to Photoshop CS5 Extended?
Question on Top o that: Why Adobe din’t got rid of two “different” versions at all?
I’ve asked that question long time ago, an it makes me very very nervous walking trough the online shop still seeing two white-blue-blue white inverted Photochoppers besides PS for Kids.
Should i take the Blue or the Red pill?
Or you wanna make people take pills forever?
The new masking refinements are stunning. That, the HDR/Remove Ghost and the Content Aware fill are the three features for which I would definitely upgrade. ACR 6 is also very appealing. Unfortunately I cannot afford a hardware upgrade, so I’ll have to pass this time.
John, the Design Group I work with just saw a demo by Terry White and we are all excited. I already knew about a lot of the new features in PS, but the rest of the Suite is amazing too! I have a quest ion though: the system requirements for PS Extended includes 256mb vram – what happens if you have less? Many of us are running the 24″ iMac Core2Duos with the 128mb Nvidia GeForce 7300. Is it gonna work? We are a little more than a year from the minimum time before we can request a hardware upgrade. (Yikes!)
Jim – seriously? How about you direct that question to Apple first? Final Cut Pro Studio? Aperture? iWeb, iDVD? iPhoto? iMovie? Quicktime 7 Pro? 64 bit yet? not so much… must be something…Oh, Quicktime X…and Finder in Snow Leopard. I think Adobe is doing just fine in this regard.
I am having trouble determining how to upgrade cost effectively from Photoshop 6 to CS2? I really don’t do videos so feel the money spent to get to 5 is unnecessary. Any thoughts with this?
THanks in advance. Elizabeth Kidwell
Hi,
I have a question about Photoshop CS5. I’m just a beginner and I would like to know how it works… So I looked on Youtube and I found this video. I tried the horse out, but when I do ‘refine edge’ my horse become gray… And I’ve tried to do like you said in the video with the hair of the girl, but it doesn’t work. What do I have to do?
ps: Sorry for my English

64 bit for mac? About freakin time.
[Presumably you know the story on that one. –J.]
Glyn: yes, you can upgrade from CS4 to CS5 extended. If you go to store.adobe.com, you’ll find the Phtoshop CS5 extended, and from there this page: http://store.adobe.com/store/en_us/popup/software/photoshop5extended/upgrade_eligibility.html (I’m puzzled as for why there is no price difference between CS4 and CS4 extended upgrades)
