Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has been updated to version 1.3.1, and the update is available for download for Mac and Windows. Fixes include the following:
- The Lightroom 1.3 Print Module could previously cause the application to crash on either OS X 10.5 or 10.5.1 during template usage.
- On Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.5.1, the import process from a card reader or other device into Lightroom could fail to import all or a portion of the selected images.
- A decrease in Develop slider responsiveness introduced in Lightroom 1.3 has been corrected.
- The Lightroom 1.3 Develop module could cause the application to crash if adjustments were made in quick succession.
- Compressed raw files from the Nikon D100 were read incorrectly in Lightroom 1.3.
- A possible artifact in raw file support for the Olympus E-3 has been corrected.
- The Lightroom FTP Plug-in provided as sample code with the Export SDK did not function properly if the password was not saved with the selected FTP preset.
- Editing or creating a new FTP preset immediately prior to using the FTP plug-in provided as sample code with the Export SDK would cause the FTP process to fail.
- Using the Export as Previous option did not work with the FTP plug-in provided as sample code with the Export SDK.

Much needed fix, thanks for the heads up on it!
Lightroom updates are always welcome news. But, how about an update making LR faster? I use LR for deadline press, and spend quite a bit of time *waiting* while LR is “loading” or “working” when selecting, or making an edit to, images.

I am a member of the IVRPA (International VR Photographer Association) and was entitled to the discount previously offered, so I was dissappointed to find out it was only available in the US.
It was particularly galling when the opening line on the page read:
“Adobe is a proud supporter of professional photographers around the world.”
I guess that should have read “Professional ‘American’ photographers around the world” 😉
Anyways just a heads up that there are a couple of us ‘professional photographers’ in the world who are not American 🙂

There is a problem with printing from Lightroom 1.3.1 in OS X 10.5.2 to several printers. My Epson 2200 printer is experiencing this problem. For a while I gave up printing in Lightroom, but recently I revisited this problems and I see the problem has been identified and a workaround exists.
The short version is that selecting No Color Management in the print dialog box from within Lightroom does not work. The default color profile for the printer is used for color management instead of no color profile.
The workaround involves going into Apple’s Colorsync Utility, Devices tab, and changing the color profile associated with the default “Mode” of the printer.
One final note on the workaround: instead of making this change to your default printer, you can add a new printer in Apple’s Print and Fax preference panel. Call it ‘Lightroom 2200’ or something along those lines and do the Colorsync Utility work on that printer.
