Great news for photographers.

All the best,

How about at least doing profiles for standard kit lenses. Like the 7D 18-135. You should at least in the beginning be doing kit lenses before anything else. But, I am going to guess that Adobe is give priority to the needs of Adobe’s favorite professionals.
[I’m not sure whether I detect a note of irritation there, but FYI you can profile your own lenses. We can’t do everything for everyone all at once, so you’re welcome to light a candle instead of just cursing the darkness. –J.]
While I know about being able to create my own profiles and I applaud Adobe for going this far. It is not a process that I understand or am willing to take. Again, my opinion is that Adobe should be concentrating on putting out profiles for kit lenses first, followed by the most popular lenses and then what the limited number of pros want.
Either that or Adobe needs to develop a way to profile a lens with one image! Besides you have a profile for the 28-135 kit lens, but not the newer digital 18-135 kit lens. Doesn’t make sense.
John,
Your comment of creating a profile with 1 image suggests that you don’t understand what a lens profile is. Multiple images are required to be able to detect variations in lens performance.
As a Pentax user, I’m just glad that the community can create their own profiles. The 645D lens profiles won’t be of much use to a great deal of users, but at least Adobe have supported the brand.
If enough Canon users want a profile for a kit lens, they can easily scratch that itch, but my feeling is that the sort of users who use Ligthroom may quickly progress beyond that lens.
I love this lens, I also received it with my 60D. I have to say that I am pretty confident I will never outgrow this lens. With camera raw there would be even less reason to upgrade. In fact the lack of Adobe support for this lens is probably the only reason I would move on to another lens.
