Lee Varis lecture recording now available

By popular demand, we recorded photographer Lee Varis‘s talk in San Jose Tuesday night (see previous overview). There was a break during the session, so here are Part One (an overview of Lee’s career) & Part Two (the “’10 Channel Workflow,’ a radical new image enhancement routine”).

  1. Pretty awesome presentation until about 35min in when he threw ACR under the bus with the power plant image. Why do some people use a raw parametric editor so little and ‘fix’ the poor rendering results later in Photoshop?
Be cool to have someone like Lee and George Jardine work on the same images using the tools to their fullest, see what results, see who does the work better/faster (cheaper?). Now that’s a presentation I’d love to see!

  2. Sadly, the video is nearly impossible for me to watch in UK over a 1.5Mbps ADSL connection–two seconds of video, 10 seconds of freeze frame. Is the Adobe Connect content not mirrored internationally or something? Hey, here’s an idea! Why not put it on YouTube! Well OK because it’s long, but surely you could call in a favor. 🙂
