Speed up graphics production:
This new panel is designed to work with Adobe Photoshop CC and a new feature called Generator. This new HTML panel will automatically name a layer so that Generator will automatically create, and export a PNG, GIF or JPEG image. Install this new panel with Adobe Extension Manager CC. On a PC, be sure to install this panel in the Administrator Mode.
Let me know what you think!
Why not with PS6? too, please.
[The panels relies on Generator, which is new to CC. To be clear, it’s not as if CS6 & CC are coequal: At any previous time “CC” would have been called “CS7.” –J.]
Why are generator files so large compared to “save for web” using the same settings. I tried a file using jpeg, setting 7. File size 498k. Save for web 118k.
Generator uses ImageMagick to export images, so quality settings will probably be different.
David,
how did you know that Generator uses ImageMagick? I’ve looked in the PS package and found no mention of it anywhere – it could be interesting to know that Generator can dispatch IM commands in background…
Any extra info is appreciated 😉
Davide
A good bet would probably be to run your images through something like http://imageoptim.com on the Mac (not sure what the Windows equivalent would be). It will get you file size gains even over what Save for Web can give you.
